HI BUBBAPHILES,
Sweet lovable Swamp Thing is back from offline hell, wanted to say thank you to the members of the Werwolf Cafe and BUBBA fans that visited me at Wizard World/Chicago.
It was cool finally getting to meet some of you guys in person...and special thanks for the support that you and the rest of the BUBBA NATION have given towards our pictorial periodicals of the South's most infamous Werewolf... and most of all thanks for your infinite patience between issues.
I also wanted to take the time to thank all of those who enjoyed the "BUBBA/X-PHILES" issue ,it meant a lot to me personally seeing as how it was my first official BUBBA story as both artist and writer.
thanks again for all the support,
till next time moon worshippers,
-Peace out:cool:
Welcome back, Swampy. I'd been gone for quite a while, too.
I forgot you had worked on the last issue. Congratulations -- albiet belatedly. Have a hamburger (or whatever) on us. Come to think of it, you probably already have technically had a hamburger on us, seeing as how little comics creators get paid at the end of the day.

Just finished appearing at the innaugural Orlando Comic-Con this past weekend which was held at the Caribe Royale Resort here in Orlando, Florida.
It was a nice little show not huge like a Wizard World or a MegaCon but then again it is just starting out. I was there along with three of my employers whose books I am currently working on, all independent titles; Writer/ creator Robert Wawrizyniak (Super-7), Writer John Catalpano (Illegal Immigrants) , and of course writer/creator Mitch Hyman (BUBBA, the Redneck Werewolf).
Like I said this was a first year con but it was well run and attracted an impressive guest list of artists and creators/writers of the comics medium including;Greg Land(Nightwing,Sojourn), David Lloyd(V for Vendetta), Ron Marz(Ion, Green Lantern),Barbara Kessel(Sigil,Meridian),Pablos Marcos(the Zombie, Conan, Red Sonja), Phil Noto(True West)among many others.
Bubba fans were present and I was more than happy to sign some issues of Bubba along with doing some on the spot sketches of the pride of Pig's Knuckle Bend.
Other than the usual verbal jabs and taunts by Mr. Hyman who was located a mere 10 feet across from me and the rather distacting incident provided by a rather attractive young lady dressed up as the Phoenix(Jean Grey) I had a pretty enjoyable weekend and will most likely attend next years event...so mark it down kiddies if possible check out the Orlando Comic-Con next year.
keep it real moon worshippers!

A calendar is a great idea it can even be called "the Year of the Wolf" and I would invite well known guest artists to do there renditions of BUBBA and his supporting characters to illustrate the 12/15 month calendar....hopefully sometime in the future this will become a reality but as with all journeys this too will have to begin one step at a time....
-stay tuned-

Thanks , glad you like the cover work, it has proven to be quite the" female dog" to color though!
By the way that's a true Werewolf that BUBBA is rasslin with, don't know if you can spot it but the "Big Bad Wolf" is sportin a pentagarm on his left claw and you may be able to spot the Mystical, mysterious Bob in the background.
This is just the tip of the outhouse, I'd say more but then Mitch would tie me up with barb wire, cover me in syup and fire ants and then put on the best of Slim Whitman CD and hit repeat and leave!
Let's just say that it's gonna be interesting and will re-introduce an old enemy from BUBBA's past..
Hopefully comin yer way soon!!!!!
-keep it real "Moon worshippers",
Peace out!

Pardons to you fuzzball. that was meant in the sense of: let the vampire fans know that the wolves are being represented and and they(The Vamp folks) shouldn't "suck-up" all the fun. The claw shot is that same kind a playful wolf gives to warn someopne that the next one just might"sting" a bit. LOL!
