Well, I don't have any huge problems with LKH's Werewolves and enjoy reading about them, but I wish they weren't so sexually wired. It's distracting. But I do like the transformation sections. THat's almost novel (there is a shortstory in an anthology I have from the anniversary of The Wolfman that had a similar transformation and we can't forget about the transformation scenes in Willow, can we?
Werewolf strippers, now that is a drastic departure from ...uh...anything I usually think of when I think about Werewolves.
Actually I like the bit players most.......the reporter and the professor and the medical Wererats. And the idea of a Werewolf enjoying spelunking seems very right for some reason.

Which of the wolves in the series is your favorite? I, personally, am not that fond of Richard. But I definitely think that Shang Da is cool, and Jamil and Sylvie are great characters as well.
In truth, the wolves (other than Richard) and the rats are among my favorite people in the book.

Truthfully, I like all of LKH's werewolves, even the "sexually wired" ones. Richard is a bit annoying, but becomes a quality character when he unleashes in stressful situations.
Out of all the wolves, I'd have to say my favorite is (was) Cassandra, with Sylvie, Jamil, and Raina being close runners-up. Cassandra takes the cake as best character for being a genuine "good guy" in a twisted situation requiring her to assume the role of antagonist despite not doing anything "evil" per se. I'd go more into detail, but I don't want to drop any spoilers in case a few forum readers haven't tackled LKH's books yet. Let's just say that Cassandra represented loyalty at its peak, even if the subject of her loyalty used it for tragic means.

Frankly, I like the reporters like Grunwald, th professors (darn, forgot his name), and the doctors like Lillian (yeah, I know she's a rat but I actually like the rats better than the wolves). They're not quite as out-front but they seem more like people I could get to know and enjoy being around.

I like all the wolves but I like Jason the best as he's ok with being a werewolf (unlike Richard) but I think Richard's coming around. Time will tell... I like Doctor Lillian (yes she's a rat but a cool one). She's got some great wisdom for both Anita and Richard if either will listen to her!

I like Jason....I wouldn't be surprised if he rises in the ranks at some point...

Hamilton's an author of a series of books based on Anita Blake Vampire Hunter (or is it slayer?) who's a private detective/zombie raiser and has her own wereleopard pack (uh, pard) and who's main sqeezes include (but are not nearly limited to) an alpha Werewolf and a master Vampire. She likes variety.

I just found out she'll be at a Borders near me for a signing in June I haven't read her books yet (I have Bitten, but had trouble getting into it), but I'll try to get some of them down and see if I can't swing by.

Laurell didn't write a book with that title, but Kelley Armstrong did, is who you're thinking of?

That you Wolf_Mama, yes "Micah" is out now, the release date was on Feb. 28th, it is a paperback book. The tour schedule is small for that one, but she'll be doing a full nationwide tour for "Danse Macabre," starting on June 27th, so be on the look out for that tour. Here's the link to "Micah" on Laurell's site: http://www.laurellkhamilton.org/Anita/micah.html
