So what are your plans in the immediate future?

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

For the immediate future?
1.) Look for a job since I've never had one and probably should get one.
2.) Getting over my crippling anxiety and actually apply for a gorram college soon - delaying is a bad thinggg.  Like I said, I'm definitely leaning towards USF, but FSU seems to have a more comprehensive creative writing program!
tongue
3.) Hope that my poor math skills don't...effect...
me getting into a college. (That's not so much of a plan as it is a worry.)

You know that up here if you go to community college at Tallahassee Community College after you graduated you're automatically accepted into FSU.

Really?
That sounds goood, actually! smile

My mom told me to consider community college because of my bad math skills.
My high school wanted me tested for math dyslexia, it really is a problem for me...
hmm

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Yeah, it really stinks in a lot of ways because colleges obviously look at the "complete" picture when accepting/rejecting people. That's bad because you could be someone, such as yourself, that isn't particularly good in one area, but wants to pursue an education in a different area which is completely unrelated. I actually know several, several people who did what I just said and I even have a couple friends from out of town who went to TCC just because they wanted to go to FSU. The benefit is that it's much easier to get into, you're guaranteed acceptance after two years, and you're still able to enjoy the whole college atmosphere of the city. smile

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Ah, I see. hmm Yeah, I was afraid of that.  I'm really, honestly terrible at math.  My guidance counselor even told me it was strange that I got one of the highest scores on the English FCAT but, on both my first AND second attempts at the Math FCAT, I had very low scores.  I just barely passed the third time I tried it (THANK GOD), but was scared I might have to try again.  So uh...yeah, they never tested for math dyslexia (which according to Google is Dyscalculia) but I'm pretty sure I've got it because I just can't think of another reason that I'm so bad.

But yeeahh, if I can go to TCC and then go straight to FSU afterwards, that sounds pretty good!
smile

Pretty good, xKeeganx.  Just listening to music, basically.  It's been extraordinarily hot lately, it was 80 gorram degrees in this house.  With the air conditioner on.  Set at 72.
hmm
Haven't done much today except just hang out and draw/read, haha.  It's been like that for a little while, now.
That'll change soon, as I'll be hangin' out with a friend of mine within the coming week.

How're you?

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

I'm ok. My girlfriend spent the night last night and her mom flipped a b**** and took her car away... She also took her bedroom door off. And she yelled at my mom for no reason. So I'm kinda pissed but I got over it. I've been in my friends studio all day screaming my ass off... So I'm mentally and physically drained

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Ah, I see.  Why did her mom go nuts?  Did she think you guys were gonna f*ck or something?  And ah...taking her bedroom door off is pretty stupid.  I can't even really think of a logical reason for doing that.  Screaming your ass off, eh?  Were you recording a song, then?

Well, I hope your girlfriend's mom stops being...irrational.
I realize that it's her daughter and that she's concerned, but it sounds like she flipped out waayyyy too much.

Yeah were working on our LP. No her mom is a grade A b****. The next level she could go to is abusive. That's why she spent the night. Her mom treats her like shite....idk her mom doesn't like me. She said she gets a bad vibe from me...so she's kinda crazy

Well Totali, I would definitely recommend that you look into it. And, like you said, don't wait. You will not regret looking into college now while you can. wink

I've gotta make a quick exit tonight, so I'll go ahead and say goodnight Totali, Wolf of the SouthWind! Sleep well! smile

Ah, that really sucks.
I feel bad for your girlfriend, I hope it gets better for her.
Just make sure you're there for her to comfort her whenever she needs it.
I know what it's like to have shitty relatives and to have to live with 'em.
I once had to spend four months with my extremely religious aunt/uncle.  In Idaho.  THere was absolutely no way out of that house, either - had to drive for 20 minutes before actually being in town, and if you don't have a driver's license, well...then you just won't be able to get out much.  My uncle was gently caressin' insane.

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Yeah. My dad doesn't really like me so I kinda know what it's like. I live a little bit away from everybody. But I usually ride my longboard places...I don't want a car...too expensive. Yeah. Recording is so tiring. You have to re-do certain parts over and over again to get it juuuuust perfect. We actually booked a show with my friends band at a small place. But people go nuts there hahaha

My uncle thought I was a bad influence on his kids and thought of locking my CDs in a safe...............

Yeah, I don't really want a car either.  Like ya said, way too expensive!  Also, I have friends to give me rides if I want to go to a show or somethin'.  There's also the city bus, and of course, my feet!

Ah, really?
Hahaha, well I'm glad I know.  Me & this friend of mine wanna start a band.
It'd have hardcore influences, symphonic metal influences, and progressive rock influences.
So I guess it'd be like...I dunno, Abigail Williams?

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Yeah. It's so fun. We kinda sound like deathcore and hardcore with technical death metal influences...but like not so generic. It sounds different but good different hahaha....I love walking. Nothin but the good old shoelace express hahaha yeah I don't like the idea of putting carbon in the air but I'm not one of those smug people about it hahah

Ah, I see.  So it's kinda like All Shall Perish then?  Only...different? tongue They're pretty much deathcore/hardcore/techdeath, haha.  Alright, well, when you get some stuff recorded, show me!
smile

Yeah, we want our band to sound different too, hhahaha.  I don't want to end up sounding like Bring Me the Horizon.

Yeah. I told them I don't want our music to revolve around nothing but breakdowns yet I want it to make people get gently caressing VIOLENT hahaha....I'm watching Americas got talent... There's some old guy with sweet dance moves *sarcasm* hahahah watchoo up too big_smile ?

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Yeah, same here.  I want to use breakdowns where they sound good - All Shall Perish is one of my favorite bands because their breakdowns are gently caressing brutal and they don't use too much of 'em.  I don't like Emmure because their songs are all gigantic breakdowns, for instance.  I don't mind if your song has a lot of breakdowns, but make sure they flow with the music and that that's not the entire song.
Ah, so you'd want to be like...I dunno, Trapped Under Ice?  Their music makes me want to get in the pit and gently caress shite up, hahahaha.  Same thing with Black My Heart, and hell...even "Armed With a Mind" by Have Heart makes me wanna mosh hard, and they're a gently caressin' posicore band.

Nothin' much...
Just listenin' to one of my biggest guilty pleasures of all time...
(Set Your Goals.  Don't tell anyone I like them! yikes tongue)

I could never get into set your goals. It's just....too poppy. It just sounds like sum 41 with gang chants hahah... I hate Emmure so much you do not to have any talent to play their music....That and they stole the acacia strains song. I love the acacia strain hahahah I'm wearing acacia strain gym shorts right now XD

Yeah, Emmure SUCK.  And yeah, they're an Acacia rip-off for sure.  Especially on "Goodbye to the Gallows" - which I listened to all the way through! mad Sometimes, I didn't even know when the next song started because they all sound THE SAME!  And I like The Acacia Strain, but all I have heard is "Continent".  I may check out the other stuff, at some point! tongue "JFC" is the best song on that album! big_smile  I wanna see 'em live just so I can try and grab the mic and scream "I AM THE END OF THE WORLD"!

Haha, really?!?!?  That's AWESOME! big_smile And you got free shite...FROM the band! big_smile

tongue
I got to talk to Matt from The Bronx (punk rock band) when I saw 'em.  He's a pretty awesome dude (despite the fact that he was obviously drunk when I talked to him), he got in the pit and started throwing people down to the ground!

I remember when this local band covered "Filler" by Minor Threat.
I got to shout "YOU'RE FULL OF shite!" into the mic.
It was awesome. tongue
I also got to shout "WHAT THE gently caress!" into the mic during Have Heart's show when they were playing "The Machinist": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgvqv8uc0AI This song made me mosh pretty hard - I felt bad because the second the chorus came up I went from standing still to moshin' and there was this girl behind me and I didn't see her.....

Well, lucky for this girl it wasn't her face but her stomach.  I even heard her go "OOF!"  I felt horrible, apologized to her, and then jumped back into the pit.

Ah, that sucks.  I was once elbowed in the face, that hurt.  I didn't bleed, though.
I don't usually do the pile-ons...
I don't like people on top of me, for one thing.
