Re: "New Moon" movie

That's true, but not forget that the books and the movies are VAMPIRE books and movies... with werewolves in them. And by the reasons very well explained by others members of the forum, if I ever watch the movies it will be considering them as teenage-vampire movies with good effects and so. I have nothing against vampire movies with wolf shapeshifters on them...

Re: "New Moon" movie

There are loads of Quillette ('werewolf') scenes in the fourth book and even an entire part devoted to Jacob's point of view, so the Breaking Dawn movie may be good if they keep all of that in there.

LOL, check out that scene and the reaction of the crowd in the cinema at the end:

it's a scene where Bella and that other vampire chick want to stop Cullen from committing a suicide...

I mean, come on, people! Vampires don't go out in the sunlight because they sparkle? I wish that was the least of my problems.

ok so you dont like it because they sparkle??...1 thing in a whole series...sure they got it totaly wrong but its fiction for a reason....personaly i still wish that she had gotten it right...but i still think that it is a good series smile...

Edward is a pixie. Robert Pattinson is . . . not sexy.

some people like her acting and think that what she did suted bellas persoanlity
and some people have different oppinions on what is "sexy"

Oh, I definitely agree that it suited Bella's personality. Bella has no personality, so Stewart was a perfect candidate for the part.
But characters need flaws. They cannot all be Mary Sues and Gary Stus running around.

Re: "New Moon" movie

I saw this film and I enjoyed it.

Big -wow- as I'm not a Twilight fan in the slightest. I gave the book a try when it first came out, before the fan girls got hold of it, and didn't like it. But those werewolves, while completely CGI and couldn't match the amazing costume-makeup-werewolves of times past, they were still pretty neat. I'll go and see the third as well.

Now I'm the sort who will watch any kind of shape-shifting film, no matter how shite. I might cringe a bit, but it still has some measure of interest.

Oh wait for it:

Cinema reactions? Well the entire thing was packed with girls. Teeny boppers, annoyed boyfriends, women of all ages; the lot. And they all squealed and clapped and shouted. It was unnerving!

Re: "New Moon" movie

I enjoyed New Moon. Gotta feel for the actors though. They all seem to be handling the level of uber stardom level headedly though. I don't know if I could do that. All these screaming girls confusing the real me with the character. I do have to say I really think that it is funny that people, mags, celebs keep referring to Taylor as a WEREWOLF, as opposed to the guy playing a werewolf. Even R.Patz doesn't get called the Vampire Robert Pattison... :p

Re: "New Moon" movie

oh?

Well gotta question. Do the werewolves have contacts or werewolf eyes??? I'm looking at this Twilight poster and I just can't stop looking at Edward's computerized yellow eyes. Well they're golden but when you think of golden eyes, typically that's a werewolf's eye color not a vampires. But it's breathtaking. It's an alternate pic of the Twilight cover where they're both looking at us and Edward's eyes are glowing.

Re: "New Moon" movie

Even in the book series, Stephenie chose to allow her werewolves or "Shape-Shifters" to retain their human eyes... or I should say eye color, as a means to show their inner humanity. In the book, "New Moon" for example when Bella sees the large russet wolf for the first time in the meadow, it's eyes eeriely remind her of Jacob Black's. She's already making the connection, even though she doesn't realize that her best friend IS the russet wolf protecting her from the vampire.

The movie does a fantastic job for this part, buy showing Bella's frigthened expression mirrored back into the wolf's concerned eye. The wolf almost looks saddened by her expression, before getting its mind redirected to stop the vampire.

Re: "New Moon" movie

I really wanna see this movie again for the werewolf scenes (chasing that girl and killing that guy vampire) but dag I chickened out b/c the auto machine to get a ticket inside was out and I'd have to get the ticket from a guy in the booth that always has something to say! I couldnt' handle him saying "YOU are gonna see New Moon" in a condescending way. yikes  Maybe I can go to another movie theater... Anyone else going through this. haha smile

Re: "New Moon" movie

It would be a lie to say I was dragged kicking and screaming into the theater to watch this screeching abomination, but if the glove fits I definitely killed it with thermonuclear fire. Or would if given the opportunity. I'll admit was actually kind of looking forward to this film. Sure the werewolves looked a bit dopey and I was at serious risk of having my eardrums ruptured by shrieking fangirls, but it had been a while since I had had a good laugh at the expense of a sparkling vampire refrigerator. I will say that it’s not utterly heinous and completely vile, borderline offensive in it’s awfulness as the “Movie Movies” series is, or a film made by Uwe Boll. Or either of the Halloween remakes for that matter. Still, that's no excuse really, I'm not sure if the joke wore thin after the original Twilight or if this just isn't as funny, but either way I was highly disappointed. I didn't laugh once during the entire film. It wasn't particularly terrible, it was competently directed and most of the actors did their best. The soundtrack was fairly listless but after the first one I expected nothing less. Compared to the first one the fight scenes in this film weren't that bad actually. I'll be the first to admit that it had it's merits, Ashley Greene for one.

Hot damn.

So, my two cents. You want "post modern" vampires? Watch Daybreakers. You want a real vampire romance story? Watch.... I don't know, Bram Stoker's Dracula? Let the Right One In? 30 Days of Night? Why do vampires need to be shoehorned into the romance genera? In fact, why do werewolves need to be shoehorned into the romance genera?

What exactly is sexy about monsters who shed their humanity at night to feed on human prey?

Wowww, totally uncool. How did Stephenie even come up with the Quilete? Does she live in Forks or did she? That's not cool how MSN walked all in that sacred cemetary man. Tres uncool!
