Demonata series

I've just picked up the first book in this series, Lord Loss.  As I understand it (from cheating and reading ahead on the internet), one of the main characters is a werewolf, though the main focus is demons.  I'm only into the first few chapters at this point, though.  It's young adult fiction, but only in it's brevity.  This series seems like its going to be very gory, which I don't mind at all.

Anyone read these?

Re: Demonata series

From another topic that was deleted (since this one already existed):

I recently have come across the work of Darren Shan - whose book Cirque Du Freak is currently to be released as a film. His Demonata series apparently follows a number of magic wielding protagonists who make war with an army of demons making mischief upon the world. The most central protagonist - Grubbs - is a werewolf. His lycanthropy isn't significant to the whole series but it is central in the books Blood Beast (where he discovers he is a werewolf) and Wolf Island (where he has full control and uses his ability to fight other werewolves). His books are of the horror/action genre complete with dark comedy akin to the Hell Boy series. Should be interesting although I am always discouraged by fantasy books that are too involved with the actual fantasy, but I will give the series a shot. Here's a link to his Darren Shan's website:
