As far as i can tell there just are absolutely NO aspects of Therianthropy that are uniform or predictable. Nothing affirmative. Kinda sucks when you're not sure. Just want another Therian to walk up and be like, "woah, youre one too." ((totally pictured Keanu Reeves right there. lol))
I wish i could find a pack near me, not online. Ive had little to no luck on that front.

Lol, again...know how ya feeling. As I said before it all tends to be subjective experiences, so it's probably all down to personal interpretation of those thoughts and feelings. I think people who aren't sure do hope for it to be as easy as that. I wouldn't of minded if I was walking down the street and some guy (We'll use Keanu Reeves for the example XD) just came up to me and said I was one...make things so much easier.
As for packs, I'm pretty sure theres none around me, and wont be for ..well...a long long time.

Hmmm...lets hope they doesn't come across this statement and hunt you down for it! XD
The only other Therians I know of are...well, all of the Therains in the cafe! I don't think most of the people I know would even know what the word Therian meant. The only reason my close friends do is because I kinda told them I was lol!

Yeah even my wiccan friend didnt know what it meant. My girlfriend thinks she's a cat but she had never heard the word therian either. I just kinda found it searching on the internet for others like myself. Came upon the Cafe' and here i be. lol

You have a Wiccan friend? Wow, thats pretty unusual. Then again, over here...most people tend to try and follow the 'norm' and not want to make a fuss about ANYTHING...so if anyone has anything 'different' to them, its kept quiet. I mean, even a friend of mine was picked on whilst we were at school because he was a practicing Christian...which is a pretty horrible reason to be bullied for.
In my village, within the youth especially, my age and under I'd say, if you don't listen to rave, club or dance music, don't go out to town to get wasted every tuesday, friday and saturday night...you're seen as a bit of a weirdo. Thats probably why I tend to get on with people older than me. Or am I just a bit too stiif for my own generation? XD
I'd say my friend group on the other hand is rather diverse considering our environment seems to encourage 'normal' behaviour, the people I grew up with in whilst I was at school, and years below me seem to follow a rule of 'Its strange and stands out, mock it!' Lol
Wait...why did I start all of this blabbering again? 0_o
It's probably best to ignore all of the above...*hides away in a corner*

Wow, thats so odd. Here everyone does everything in the world to be different, especially if everyone else is doing it. lol
Fads are like drugs to these people. But if i was to say im therian they'd be like "what?" then, after they found out what it was, i'd be mocked for it im sure. But yeah, i've had several wiccan friends.

I guess it doesn't help that I live in a very secular area. People around here are generally 'no nonsense, no fuss' attitudes. Anything that seems 'spiritual' is kinda turned away, or seen as odd. So if someone was to say 'Hey there! I'm a Therian!' and then try to explain to them what it meant...they'd not want to associate with them, as its that 'odd' factor...if its something that could draw attention to you...you ignore it. It might be me just looking negatively at my area, which I'm prone to doing, but people (mainly people around my age and lower) seem to create groups based on interest, beliefs and such...which is all fine and dandy, but when these groups then show prejudice against all that is 'different' to them is when I lose faith in the way things are.
Wow...I sound like a right lil ranter.
I keep thinking of the Tower Of Babel story...although its relevance here isn't THAT much lol. I guess thats what reading commentaries on the Book of Genesis does to ya...curses me reading through my uni books again! XD

Nah, it isn't odd really...not for me anyway. It's pretty normal for me as it's just how things are around here. I found it incredible how open people are on here, talking about things I'd never dream of mentioning even to some of the people close to me. I mean, I'd never heard of 'howls' before, and when I first read a post mentioning them...I was like 'wtf...people actually DO that?'
It wasn't because I found it weird, its because if it was done where I live...you'd be laughed at to high heaven...and looked down on by whoever knew.

Yeah, everyone's just a lil TOO open in the States, if you ask me. The Christians are a bit out of control, and the young kids are so rude and mean. Its craziness.
Offline
Heh...the kids are the same over here. As 'old man' stereotype as this sounds, they have little respect for where they live and the people around them. A lot anyway.
I'm all for being open...I'd like to be a bit more open, and have others be more open too. This is why my little group of friends (Me and my 2 best friends) are seen as a very 'weird' group. Between us 3, we can talk about ANYTHING no matter how random or personal, as we completely trust each other. Whereas in other friend groups (some of my other groups of friends included) there is the occasional 'talking behind someones back' or 'moaning about someone'. I'll admit to being a bit of a moaner about how peopme act sometimes...but I think that goes back to how open I am around my other 2 friends...my other friends usually see me as telling them stuff they don't care about, or asking personal questions about them. I probably am in the wrong here, but because I'm so used to the openess of my best friends...it's weird having to 'hold back' more when with other friends.
...if any of that made sense XD

I guess everyone does is some way, consciously or not. Knowing what they can and can't say with certain people I mean.
Going slightly back on topic. Are there 'symptoms' or being a Therian? Surely there will be similar feelings, thought processes and characteristics that enables people to be grouped under the term 'Therian' Then again, a lot of these feelings and such are all personal to the individual, as each Therian has their own different experiences of 'awakening' or how they realised they were a Therian, or whatever. These experiences aren't really visible to others.
Not intending to make it sound like a medical condition here lol, but is it possible for someone else to 'diagnose' that you are a Therian?
Offline
It would be difficult cuz any of the animal behaviors we exhibit outwardly could in another person just be them being weird. lol Not a "symptom" of being a Therian. Its almost entirely internal.
Offline
"animal behaviors" isn't a symptom of therianthropy. You're right, they could be a Therian exercising their right of expression or a nontherian doing the same thing. But there are things that Therians can pick up on that causes them to know that there are other Therians around. One "trait" of typical Therians is hypervigilance - they don't really have that much choice but to connect with their surroundings. That is not necessarily true of autistic Therians, though, although it can be. As for listing an encyclopedia of Therians traits, we have enough people trying to emulate us in ways that don't work, I'd hate to let them know what we're really like.....

Hey guys? I've been becoming more 'wolflike' lately. I ran around chasing people on all fours at school! I didn't do it on purpose. Everyone was screaming and I don't catch anyone when running on 2 legs but I caught lots of people then. I was just chasing them for fun. I walk, silently, around the house on all fours more now. And once I suddenly started running on all fours really quickly to my room, took a flying leap at the door and landed perfectly on my bed. It felt cool, good and weird at the same time. And I wasn't doing it on purpose!

I do similar things. For one i can easily out run anyone on an all fours race, even some dogs! And although i dont tend to just automatically start running on all fours, i do when i get into play fighting with dogs. I bark and yip, paw, growl, and all four chase them wthout meaning to. like im in control but not at the same time.

What're you talking about?

I do the same thing like you AshenWolf. One of my other werewolf friends has a dog. And when the dog licks her, she licks it back! I don't have a dog, I live in an apartment. But it's lucky I have a huge garden and small forest downstairs on the first floor though!

OMG a lot of those things that you said have happened to me! Well not exactly the "same" but deffinitly alike. Can girls alos be werewolves? I can't figure it out...??
Offline
Okay, first, yes, there are female Werewolves.
Second, a lot of these things have nothing to do with being a Werewolf.
Third, if you read a medical book, it's very easy to convince yourself that you have one or more of the diseases described there - whether you have them or not.
If you're a Werewolf, fine - if not, there's no real reason to want to be one. It's not a particularly glamorous, exciting, or special life (no more than anyone else, anyway).
None of the Werewolves I've ever known in real life ever had to ask this question. Once they realized they were a Werewolf, they knew they were a Werewolf. I'm not saying the question never comes up, but it's got to be rare and somewhat of an anomaly in the Were community.

I'm just saying I'm very different from other people and don't really care who or what I am. Hmmm... and no, im most likely not a psychopath... I'm pretty sure. Hmm... ya, not feelin like a phsychopath now either. Oh I was relating to teenlycan...sorry if that caused mixup in any way.

I agree with what youre saying, WolfVanZ, the only reason i asked was because, athough i was pretty sure of what i was, i wanted an outsider's opinion so i wouldnt convince myself i was something that i wasnt, much like the medical book example you gave :p
