I could tell; I just don't know what it has to do with fauns or what I said.

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

Okay now put away all the happy little kitties ya'll and listen up!  I've been pretty ill for a few weeks and I'm just about back on the mend, so apologies to all for not posting. Here's what's up ...After a long brainstorming session with my esteemed Scare Tactix team mate and good buddy,  Tommy Castillo, We're going to be getting a new Bubba issue up and out there ASAP! Also, Swamp thing is working on the new poster and we have several new projects coming from STG that are going to be what the comic biz will be buzzing over again. The new line of Books and resurgence of interest in Bubba has been really cool to see!  And keep your eyes peeled for some enetrtainment news about sevral comics from us that are now going into development to be bigger media items. No, not bubba...right yet, but our other books are getting serious attention. Look at how Ms. Candace Kita is getting involved with our KYU-SHIN character and you'll get a clue as to what I'm saying here. Now, a lot of folks have been asking around here at the cafe about getting Bubba and other books...Well check this out...

We locked down a a deal with a hot new distributor named HAVEN. The Haven Catalogue will available at all your local comic shops and will feature Scare Tactix books and goodies as of May. This  will ensure that you can now get all our books and the new bubba 's that are coming your way. So, there ain't no more excuses to not get your comics, folks. The thing I also like about HAVEN is that they are dedicated to Indie comics and as we all know, the Indie books innovate, re-create and in lots of ways out rate the tired old junk from the big three.

So, support yourselves and the indie comic’s field...head to your comic shop and say, "My shorts are on fire!"

Okay, maybe not that...but ya gotta admit, it's funny. But tell your shop that they need to get HAVEN distribution's great books. Unless of course they want to order more Purple Russian Hulks, infinitely confusing Crisis’s, or invasions by the same freaking aliens who look like other aliens who aren't really aliens but are mutants who have had a crisis and got lost at an anime convention.

Whew! That's all for today...everybody hit the monkey bars for recess!!!

LOL!

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

Thanks ya'll1 Yeah, it was pretty bad fora couple of weeks there. Now, the new poster is being done by Swamp thing and will be Bobby-jo and Bubba rasing hell on the highway. you'll see...  I'm meeting with Shawn this week to get the next issue framed out and so I'm hoping for the very early summer, late spring for the new Bubba nd couple of other new books too. The Con schedule looks great this year! We'll be at both summer Wizards, so yes, my favorite CHICAGO and Philly. also, We'll be at Heroes Con, San Diego (Just waiting for the booth confirmation) and several other shows throughout the Summer. To see the full schedule just go to www.scaretactixgraphix.com and look up the Con info! And Busboy, Chicago will be a rockin' time! Plus as usual...always have something special for the Man who runs the Cafe!

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

Well first of all ...Thanks Blue Eyes for running this forum. You deserve props as well. I'm waiting to see if Scare Tactix gets approved by the San Diego committe. I have to admit, i find this disturbing as I'm a seasoned Pro for close to 16 years and have been published in comics widely, Created one of the most iconic and well kown characters in comics along with the fact that the company I represent works with some well known Pro's, including one of the Con's guest artists...but still have to wait to see if we get a table, which we pay for. Go figure...

Now onto other business... I've gotten a few requests in the last month to see about another fan powered issue. So, let's set down some guidelines and see what ya'll think.  Simply put, it works like this. I'll have a non-disclosure agreement made up for the issue (Just like the last time) this allows you folks to use Bubba for the express purpose of the Fan issue. You agree that the character is owned by myself (and Bobbi-Jo! LOL!) and that you'll be doing this for the ability to get published and get a few free issues of the comic. Now for all you artists...you'll be showing that you can do a page of sequential art.

That means you can tell a story or show some action in 5-8 panels. You must consider room for dialogue and know that some of your art might be covered up by word balloons or other effects.  Writers...You must be able to tell a good solid story in 8 pages. Watch your dialogue, as like I just said there will be limited space.  So, start thinking about this. and I expect art and writing samples first. Then if I team you up with someone, you will have to communicate constantly with this person and be respectful of one another.

If you can write and do art both...then even better...but they both better be good!!  Okay, now just start practicing and we should get the issue going hopefully over the summer. This will give ya'll lots of time to prepare.

The last Fan issue was one of the best things I ever saw and expect the same level from the new folks coming in.  Only the best will make it...so practice and study the  art form of comics. Yeah, I know I sound real serious...but this could be your chance to become a Pro and so ya gotta act like one.  Good luck!

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

Writing sample...hmm.  What I've got already isn't very Bubba in tone.  Would you expect something along the lines of what we'd intend to make in the issue (i.e. about the characters in the series)?

And you're welcome, RealDealBubba. *Blushs* Good luck on the second fan-powered Bubba issue. It will be interesting to see how the other fans try their paws on Bubba and his crew.

Well, I have the story together, I'm just working of the comic script format and fleshing out the descriptions of the panels.  So does this mean that I would be paired with an artist who would draw it out?

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

Okay…and now a moment of clarity…Writers, if you have an artist to work with…then see what you can do. If the work is strong it will get used. If the story is strong and the art is not…I’ll put you together with someone. Artists, same rules but in reverse. And to all of you who want to submit something other than Bubba. That time will be coming soon as well. So, just stay tuned to the café or watch the news section of the Scare Tactix web site.  Either way….we’re going to be giving folks a chance to get into the game. Hey, ya’ll know that I have faith in creative people.
