Hey realdeal, I just read the new Bubba last night before work.  lol  I love it!  I like how you tied together his origin and the gamer army, very cool.  I laughed so hard I nearly peed myself.  lol

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

I just read the latest Bubba and its one of my favorite. The humor about all the Wizard of OZ books that are out there shows Mitch really is on top of the comics biz. The rest is just great. Can't wait for the next one.

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

I believe right now you can get them at certain conventions and the STG website.

The more I think about Bubba the more impressed I am. Why does everybody like Spiderman? I like him because even though he's been bestowed with these powers, he still has alot of the day to day problems to overcome like we all do. So heres Bubba Blanche. Not the brightest guy with the best job in town, but, he does it as well as he can. He has a circle of friends that care about him, a girl that loves him, and he's generally liked by everyone. Of course there are more powerful people who are jealous of him because he is so well liked, plus, maybe there a little jealous because he has people who care about him.
This is all before his change of course. Others that have become werewolves, Larry Talbot for instance find it a curse and work to get rid of the power. Others, like the guy in the movie theater in Howling one, take their new power as a way to get even with the people who have looked down on them when they were powerless. They become arrogant. How would we fare? That's a question only each of us can answer.
But, here is Bubba. He may have become arrogant for a minute or two in the beginning; but the love of his friends and Bobbie-Jo gets him to see that; as Stan Lee says: "With great power comes great responsibility".
Bubba knew right from wrong before his transformation when he saw it. Now, like all good super heroes, he has the power to do something about it. To fight on the side of what's right.
While I love the broad satire and all the humor; in the end Bubba is willing to use his powers to right the wrongs he encounters. Just like Spider-man and all of our other heroes. Maybe we wish that someday we will have the power to stand up and fight wrong whereever we find it. Maybe thats why we all love Bubba! Bubba a super hero. Who'd a thunk it!

Very interesting synapsis! I am definatley enthralled...already!
I'd buy it, but I live in desolation, so the liklieness of me finding a convention is about 1 in 10000000000000.....

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

Sad news for all comic fans and fans of comic art, we lost yet another big name in the genre with the sudden passing of Artist/Creator Michael Turner at the age of 37. Mike lost his long struggle to cancer this past weekend.
Of course people familiar with his work best know him from his creation of such popular characters like "Witchblade","Fathom", and "Soulfire" and founder of Aspen Comics. Our sincerest condolences go out to Mike's family...GOD BLESS sad

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

We're back!  First of all i'd like to say howdy to the new fans we have here at the cafe.  Le Loup I was beyond impressed with your insightful view on Bubba. you've gotten the crux and core of the ideals behind him to a note. Glad to have you join the crew! Now as to getting the books for those of you who are in the middle of nowhere...just go to the website www.scaretactixgraphix.com and you can order up the books or the special including full color T-shirt and poster. We take Pay pal and money order and a few of you who have ordered there know we ship fast.  Hang in there Punxnotdead...we got yer back if ya need us. As for this current issue of Bubba...I really wanted to make this one memorable and thanks to all of you who said such groovy things about it!

Okay on to the Convention. a lot of us were floored by Mike T's passing. Last year at the con it was Mike weringo. We all respectfully tooka momnet of silence for him. A lot of artists, including STG's Tommy Castillo, went and did sketches for Aspen Comics as part of an homage to the man.  The issue of health and the artists who work to entertain  us all is getting be  one that we're hoping will be addressed soon like all health care issues. Just remember the passing of  a favorite artist by honoring and enjoying their work which will live on forever.

Maenwhile the rest of the show was fantastic and I mean FAN- tastic. Everyone  was great who stopped by to talk comics and pick up the new stuff from us.  Bubba is going to be coming out more often as we got lots of threats about what would happen if we don't! LOL!  A lot of other creators are talking to us about doing Bubba pieces and wanting to arrange cross overs, so I think we'll see more of the ornery cuss around  in the next year or so. But I'm so proud of all of you folks  who make doing this character a blast for us and just ...well shucks...Thank ya'll much!  Oh yeah... and we may have fan units of the Black Widow mercenaries popping up at shows soon...like I said...Black Widows rule!

We also got great feedback on the new Midight at the cathouse theater "Bangkok moon" story. I saw folks curled up in corners going through the books and coming back later to comment about they  liked the way I and Frank Turner we handled the lycan battle in the story. When you get some time...check the book out and I'm really curious to see how hard core Were creature fans like ya'll have to say about it.

But that leads to this...Busboy and I were having a nice visit while at the show and we just were so amazed and happy about how cool the general population of the Cafe is in general. Ya'll have no idea how much we we think of you here at this forum and  at the all the other forums as well. The Busboy and I  talked about our favorite posts and how some of you have grown so much as creative, humourous and sharply intelligent people.

Yeah, we had a great  show and we look forward to the shows we have lined up and the rest of the year here at the cafe with you guys. So, just take care of yourselves and  know that you have friends here you haven't even met yet...dang..now THAT'S what living is all about.

Happy fourth to all the US of A  fans and Happy just in general to all ya'll everywhere else.

Who would like to see Cadre reunited with the Bubba crew to bring you some really tight inks to some astounding pencils?

Would you all be interested in a hillbilly from Kentucky working on a Redneck Werewolf book from Florida? hmmmm?
