Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

Well Cadre...I guess these folks are tough enough to handle it...so here goes...

Years ago I had introduced Bubba in an on-going mini series I was doing for a comic company that specialized in horror books. In this incarnation, Bubba, was a ravening maniacal killer.  Then as I took a long look at him later on...I realized that he was frustrated for not being accepted by his small town community and was just pegged as a village idiot. Well, after he turned wolf...his bestial pent up rage came out.

But I know for a fact that people have two sides to them...they have the ability to do great good and great harm.
So Bubba became a metaphor for this. I already showed he could do great harm. That was easy.

As a writer...I then took the hard road...Making people accept him as a different creature but now using his great strength and abilities to do some good in the world. I enjoy this Bubba far more...because he's a challenge to write...I have show he's growing as person but embraces his animal side.

Let's face the facts... we can choose to do harm and we choose to do good. That is the toughest choice we all get...so the old Bubba shows that it's easy to be rotten...The Bubba we have now shows us that it's trying to NOT be rotten AND not taking the easy way of using or abusing the world and those around us that eventually builds up wisdom and character.

It also made Bubba a dream come true for a creator...he was original, unique and iconic. There really was nothing like him in the world. He wasn't based on some old concept...but became a brand new thing in the world.

Bubba is accepted world wide too. He has fans from all over the globe that write and tell me how much they enjoy his antics. So in making Bubba a character with growth ability I made him something that anyone from anywhere can look at and see that it's not just being a "Redneck Werewolf " that makes him Bubba...It's just being Bubba the individual that makes him Bubba.

See? The hard road... but to me it makes me proud of him and all of you who understand him.

Thank you and now it's off the soapbox for today! LOL!

Woah -- I didn't know Bubba like that.  Maybe this accounts for that intestine-whip statuette and Bubba eating that cook's arm in #1?

*Shrugs* Guess that Bubba had a rough start and I'm aware that he slips up once a while like when in Hollywood, he had a certain mean-spirited TV judge in his tummy.  I now admit that since I never liked that guy, I really didn't mind Bubba doing that.

Thank you Mitch for the fantastic job you have been doing as editor and chef keeping everything cooking. I have asked Mitch to just wait a little longer to announce the web sight and sales. Even as I write we have pages, covers, advertising pictures, posters, convention photos, other artwork, tee shirts, all in some form of being created or manufactured. Mitch is also finalizing  the print run and publication date.  We want to make sure that you will enjoy our products and won't be disappointed that items aren't ready. Mitch has always felt this forum and werewolf cafe  are his greatest fans and we plan to give its members specials available only to them to show are thanks for their continued support thank you NYWOLF

Heh heh heh.  Um...you did do that on purpose, right?
I wanna know if the next issue will be in Diamond Previews.  The shop I'm nearest generally only orders from there.

Hey there "G"... long time sir... glad to see you venturing out and working the passion you have for this industry.

When Mitch told me that YOU were behind Scare Tactix and the endeavors therein... I was ecstatic.  Iknew that with the passion you share for the industry and the know how between you and those you've already assembled... ST would do pretty darn well in the ol' creativity department.

Feel free to call on me if you ever need  another paw in the ol' cookie jar.

Take care of yourself and be blessed.

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

See? We all can get along. North, south east,west...Mars and that small planet that's on the other side of the sun. You know the one...that's the one which causes all your cel phone calls to drop and....Well, better save that one for the government conspiracy theory and freemasons site I'm joing next planetary alignment. LOL!

Anyways...thanks ya'll and the feeling is the same back to ya.

Now as to the Diamond thing....They're great folks and they want us to bring them the books. And eventually we will!   But first we're doing conventions and selling at the website.  We're going right to the fans to let them know we're open and running hard!

Reasons?  Several...One is that we want some of the books be convention only special editions to pay back  all the fans who make a hell of an effort to see us. Second...the first run of books from the website will include signed copies and other special deals  that we could only put together on-line. And ordering from us there will enable ya'll to to use pay pal and money orders, so that when you get your books they're just the way you want them.  Signed... or with posters and shirts and whatever way you want make up a  special deal for yourself.
You'll see that it will be just as easy and cost effective because we busted butt to make it work for the fans.

When we do go to Diamond...We'll have a couple of surprises that we'll offer only there at that time.
But for now..please deal with us direct...you'll be happy you did because we're there, hands on to make sure you get just what you want and the way ya want it!

I really enjoy Fuzzball's questions...Okay lady, Ya just earned yerself a goodie when we get all the stuff in!

Oh yeah...there will be contests at the web site where you can win free stuff. Another reason you want to visit and and  pick up the first wave of stuff there... Anyone can enter these contests and the prizes will be nice!
But anyone who ORDERS will have a shot at something really cool!  And we'll be picking those folks at random every month!

As Usual...the Cafe rocks and the fans rule!
