I just ordered some of the back issues, I can't wait to see this series.  From what I've heard it should be good!  smile

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

Just to let you you know who I am, I'm a friend of Mitch from NY and a big BUBBA fan. I realize that  people are always announcing projects that sometimes don't quite work out. That is why I asked Mitch to be conservative in the imformation he posted. I wanted to be sure the I's were dotted and T's crossed. Since the Project is fully funded and has made good progress I'm happy to say that you'll be getting alot more detailed imformation and names of the talent involved. I will leave that to Mr. Hyman who has really put a fantastic effort to make these books work and set a standard for the books to come. Let the games begin MITCH and I hope you all join us for the ride. As we say in NY YOOOOO! NYWOLF

Lay off Mitch... no one here knows what the man has been through in the last year or so... and as such, I would appreciate a little slack in his direction.  That being said, I fully look forward to seeing what the man has in store for all of us, myself included and I look forward to one day working with him again.

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

Okay folks here's what you've been waiting for...Over the last few months I’ve been assigned the post of managing editor for a new comic company called “Scare Tactix Graphics”. The unique thing that sets this company apart from the others is that we’re running it like the old EC comics used to. The publisher will call me and give me a concept he’d like to see in print. I then plot and script the concept, contact the artist best fitted to do it and after we all figure how to make the story look it’s dynamic best…We print it and get it out there to you folks.

Sounds simple huh? Well it is when your working with people who have over 20 years experience in the comic , entertainment, and graphics businesses. Unlike some companies, the great art talent we’ve assembled will NOT just be doing covers…but the entire books are being done by artists like Tommy Castillo, Bill Marimon and a few select others who have worked on major comic characters like Batman, Silver Surfer, The Punisher, Green Arrow, Damage, among others.  I’m the luckiest writer around to be able to work with  these guys, who have been great and true friends of mine for well over a decade.

Now about the books-- Our first Two books will be on the market soon and we hope you really enjoy what we’ve done. The First one   is called “Black Widow - G.E.U.” The G.E.U. stands for “Global Extermination Unit” This on-going series will involve some bold female mercenaries fighting their way through a planet filled with horrors.  The entire art for the book is being done by DC/Marvel artist (and Co-creator of the DC character DAMAGE) ----Bill Marimon!

The other offering is the most unusual comic I think that’s ever been done.  It’s titled “Midnight at the Cathouse Theater”- where it’s ALWAYS Halloween night. The book takes place in a brothel where living and lovely ladies cater only to a supernatural clientele. Our first tale for this series is a legendary ghost story told by the Madam of the house. The story has a basis in historical fact and if you liked the films from the  “National Treasure” series then you’ll love this one! I’ll even include a list of government and educational organization websites along with reference books that contain passages about the events and people mentioned. The book's art is being masterfully painted by the renowned (and pretty damn dangerous) Tommy Castillo.

Future stories will include totally original horror tales and just the kind of stuff that will have you reading it with the lights on and your finger near the speed dial button for 911. Including a werewolf character that I’ve been refining and working on for over 15 years.  The story is so dark and so soul wrenching that I’ve had to wait to find the right time and publisher to get it in print the way I’ve wanted to do it. You’ll never look at yourselves or Were-creatures the same when you read issue #2 of “Midnight at the Cathouse Theater”.  I’ve even called in the help of an “Extreme Ghostbuster” to get this story just right.

Y’see I started out in this business writing horror comics for the companies that began the original indie comic revolution and so it’s nice to get back to making you guys shake with fright as opposed to laughter…For now.

And that brings me to Bubba. Thanks to this new publishing project…There will be a new series of Bubba stories coming your way as soon as we can get these other books launched.  This company fully funds and supports all books so that we can offer top quality in all ways for quite a few years to come.

And finally…Thanks to all you fans for hanging in for so long and for keeping patient. It took time to get all the legal, business and general BS it takes to open a publishing house like this. So please be patient a little longer as I’m having our esteemed Busboy aid me in posting the covers, so that they look just right for you folks here at the Café’.

By the way…The Werewolf Café’ is going to be the first place for now that you’ll be able to see the covers and hear about the stories we’re doing!

In March ’08 come meet the whole crew at Mega-Con here in Orlando (if ya can) to see just what is going on at “Scare Tactix Graphix”. We’re not changing comics…We’re just making them more like everyone keeps saying they want them to be.  You’ve supplied the talk…so we’re supplying the action!

Take care ya’ll and here’s to all of us back to howling and ripping our way through a brand new year!

PS—that NYWolf dude is seriously acting like a true Lycan---Come to Mega Con and see just who this pain in the tail is!

Re: Bubba The Redneck Werewolf Comic: Honorary Forum

Keep on keepin' on Blue... Bubba will be back!  Bubba  blazed a great new trail for werewolves in current comics much like the brilliant "Werewolf by Night" did back in the day. I'm proud of that character and have him around since the first "evil" incarnation of him I did for CFD comics back in the early 90's.

Also Blue and the rest of ya'll......you'll like THESE other horror stories, pal! they draw from sources I've been researching and gathering tales about from all over the world. I traveled quite a bit of the planet  back in the day, and and through the haze of exotic liqour, dark alleys in sunlit places and Bangkok massage girls... I actually remember some of it! LOL!

As for the Busboy and the cafe'... many thanks to you folks!!  I think the rest of ya'll will be impressed with the first cover...'cause all  of the book's art will be just as tight!
