It's not only perfume, it's anything... synthetic, that makes me hold my breath for as long as I can.

Yeah, I smell like a dog - it's called musk and human musk smells a lot like canine musk - it's just that most humans have had the musk domesticated out of them. I go into rut when the seasons change - fall and spring. Indelicate, I know, but true.
I learned long ago not to "try" to to like anything other than me. That leaves me acting in mywolf self (since that's all I have left). I have found that others are surprisingly easy to adapt to having a human shaped wolf around them.

I'm pretty sure the color of your eyes, especially when they're hazel, can change over time...which makes the color even harder to spot.
for example...here's my left eye taken from five different pictures from the last couple years... the last one I purposefully took for this, the rest are just from pictures I had lying around on my computer from parties, school, etc...
with some it's pretty obvious how different the color is....especially in the second one, which I believe was taken at a party when someone practically smacked me in the face with my own camera (note the annoyed squint).
Yeah, I can see how that you look like that you're going wolf in the second picture with your eyes in that color.

Ah, fall and spring..."hunting" season for me too How did it happen? I mean that most humans had the musk domesticated out of them? I don't think it's the use of soap and anything perfumed because I use both and the musk is still there.
Speaking of perfumes, the only ones not making me sick are those who are expensive and "spicy" or "woody" (sorry, I don't know how you say it in english ) they have to contain sandalwood or poppy seeds you know, things like that. But the rest, like many of you, they give me sinus problems, monstrous migraines, lung problems...
I have a question, when any of you (not just here but on other therian forums), when you speak of physical shifting what do you mean? Are we talking about the ability to fully transform into a wolf or just some parts of the body? Like hair, eyes, teeth? Because I cannot say if I believe in it or not if I don't know what it is exactly.
Offline
Physical, yes we do mean a full shift from human to wolf.I cannot do it,but that does not mean it is not possible in my opinion, maybe it is maybe it isn't.If someone says they can i'm not going to call them a liar because I have no evidence saying they cannot,so I keep an open mind.I kind of believe it possible because I notice with myself that my eyes change when i'm anrgy and I often experience phantom physical shifts.
Offline
As for me, I try to keep an open mind but there are some things that I find hard to believe...I mean how is it biologically possible? I'm not saying that because I can't do it myself but I don't know anyone who can. I do believe tho that some parts of our body can change but to be completely changed, 100% wolf...mmmmmm...I don't know. I believe that eyes can change, hair, the senses but that's about it...like I said, I find it hard to believe but there is a "maybe" floating in my mind.

heh...yeah, you're right. Might be because my pupil is pretty dilated...
the rest of my face had sort of a "Dude?! What the heck are you doing?!" expression... I was a pretty pissed off, he stole my camera and then kept sneaking up on me and others and blinding them with the flash (it was pretty dim lighting)....then he snapped that one just as I was running up to grab the camera from him...

My sister has the most amazing eyes! They are hazel, but pure yellow in the center with just a ring of sea green.Somedays I think she is some kind of big cat therian...

My eyes are blue/grey and they have a little yellow around the pupil. When I get mad the yellow in my eye like expands. It's cool!

Awesome!Mine do that too,and my vision goes blurry then crystal clear....it's weird.

Musk s a sexual signal. Domesticated animals are either always sexually active or are active more often and for longer periods than their wild counterparts. They don't need musk; therefore, over time, they lose it (or they virtually lose it).
Physical shifting - I neither believe nor dsbelieve - but there's no reason for a person to talk about it on the Internet unless 1) they're bragging (and in that case, they may or may not be able to do it), or 2) they want to impart the knowledge to others. The first reason is unacceptible. The second is good but that would mean that the individual will be willing to give proof - I've never run into one who was.
So, unless a person is willing to give solid proof that they can physically shift, I'd just as soon not see it on the Internet - it looks bad all around. What it actually looks like is that they're role playing ther brains out without realizing that nobody else is role playing - it's sorta embarrassing......

I'd have to agree, but usually I just ignore them if they are being dumb!

I knew that musk is a sexual signal. Just wondered why so few of us still have it. Your theory is pretty logical!
As for P-shifts, so many claim to be able to do so but when you ask for proof, they reply things like: "I don't have to prove anything to YOU or to anybody else!". Emmm...no but... like you I think they're role playing and they are so deep in their game! I know a couple of "weres" from other forums mixing reality with RPG...you ask them about their therian experiences and what they tell you sounds like a scene from a werewolf movie or novel...
That's another reason why I hesitated to come here! I was afraid that I would only meet lycanthropes!

Nah,my only therian experiences are that of mental shifts, phantom shifts and astral shifts.

Yeah, occassionally some hard core role players come through here. They don't seem to stay too long though. I wonder why... *hooks thumb at Wolf and grins*

Who? Moi?!
Acually, this isn't a Therian site. It's for fans of Werewolf literature and films. It just so happens that (and it's stranger than it would seem since so many Therians actually have negative feelings toward typical Werewolf fiction) that such sites attract Therians. In fact, the first Therian Website, which practically started the Therian Community, was a site like this, for discussing Werewolf movies.
So this site and the one for Freeborn and such is practically assured of having a significant group of Therians on it.
On the otherhand, there are areas for role playing here, but most of the site is for discussing reality and at the worst, role players cause confusion in the "reality sections" and at best they're simply irritating when people are trying to carry on a sensible conversation.

I used to be a therian that hated...well hate is a strong word...let's just say I had a little trouble with rpg werewolves, because like I said, I would just meet wackos who knew nothing about therianthropy. But here it's a nice combination of therians and players. When I want to have serious discussions about therianthropy I come in this section. But I don't really think that players here cause confusion. Yes sometimes the subjects deviate but it's our responsabily to bring people back to topic. I mean, a bit of fun is nice don't you think? But I understand you point WVZ.

Bad vibes between the two of you?

I'm both, but never was a RPer until I came here.I think it helps my wolf side to write out the actions of something a wolf would do,and communicate with a "pack" really does help me stay sane.I do goof off a lot,but it keeps everything well balanced!

You don't have to justify anything dear, you're having fun and that's what matters. Besides, I don't think you goof off much in the more "serious sections". Me it's the first time that role play. I could not help myself, you guys seemed to have so much fun so I had to join you in all the playing My life is so dull and serious so I need a place to have fun with others

Actually, I think Wolf's referring to people who are not playing around - like we do in the personal forums. That kind of stuff is fun It's when someone comes on here, and asks people what White Wolf Werewolf clan they belong to, etc, and completely act out a RP persona all the time.
And no, there's no bad blood between Wolf and I.
