Re: Werewolves, please read

Speaking of senses, I find a great way to increase your senses, especially if you don't happen to be born with above normal ones, is sensory deprivation.

Wanna hear the softest sounds? Block your hearing for a day. Wanna smell the most subtle scents, block you sense of smell for a day. It may be cheating, so to speak, but it really does work wonders for a short while. One day I'd like to experience a sensory deprivation tank for a few hours and see what having all of my senses knocked out would do once I come out. Has anyone else tried that?

It's no different from meditating to increase your inner awareness, I'd say. It is only inhumane if forced on someone else, not if you do it to yourself.

Here's a little more information: Wikipedia. It may or may not change your mind. The very fact that such isolation is uncomfortable is what makes it so compelling, to me.

Re: Werewolves, please read

That does work.  I remember plugging my ears for hours when I was reading and when I unplugged then I could hear much softer sounds.  I think that the body is trying to adjust to the sound loss by increasing the persons ability to hear.  It reminds me of how the heart enlarges when it gets to a high altitude.  Is there some scientific word for what this effect is called?

That would get my nerves.  Constant and repetative noise?  Is it like that throughout the day?  I live in a rural area where it is nice and quiet.

I live  in a perfect setting for a werewolf story.  Pine trees, moutains, etc.  It's really nice.

Yeah, there are some really nice forests here and around... but all I've got is a tree farm... it sucks

Re: Werewolves, please read

If I've ever seen him here, it's been a long time. It's possible that he's just checking us out.

I've been in contact with other Werewolves for almost 8 years now and I always figured the thing about being bit by a Werewolf causing you to become a Werewolf was a myth. Could you elaborate on that?
