Hahahahahahahahahahaha, well the nice thing is that it usually melts fast so there is no shoveling in the summer. wink You'll have to let me know how it goes if you ever get the chance to snowboard on people. wink

I think I'm going to be heading off as well. So in case I don't catch you again. Happy New Year!!!! big_smile Have a brilliant evening TM!

@ both White & Vin: M'kay, I'll let you dudes know if I ever do it - if, of course, I do survive and don't end up falling on the floor getting horribly injured...hmmtongue

Goodnight, guys!  Sweet dreams, and Happy New Year to you, too, Vinster...and to you as well, Whitester! big_smile

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Hahahahahahahahaha, I was expecting something insanely loud that I would turn off in about .5 seconds. tongue I was surprised when I actually listened to the entire thing and thought it was pretty good. tongue

Ah, sounds like a fun day! Hahahaha, actually it kind of does. wink Sometimes just doing stuff like that can feel kind of fulfilling you know? Like you actually did something... Most of the time it doesn't though. tongue Well I'm glad that you had a pretty good day. big_smile As for me, I was pretty busy which was nice. Did some yard work at my friend's neighbor's house, hung out with him and another friend, told my friend that I was a therian... You know, all the typical stuff. tongue

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Yes, White.
Doing yard work & then proceeding to tell your friend that you're a therian = something ya just do every single day. tongue

As I just said in your thread (I read about it in there before coming back into my own) I don't know if I could open up to anyone. hmm I kinda wish someone would randomly tell me they were one simply so I could tell somebody else, ya know? tongue Sounds stupid, but yeah, haha.
I don't think I could tell my own mother, at this point.  I did explain therianthropy to her once though and said "so I found this thing on the internet..." and she simply responded with, "Well, people believe what they believe.  Why does it matter?" so I doubt she'd care, along with a couple close friends of mine...but it's just really difficult to admit something like that.
Or, for me, anyways.
hmm

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Well today I have been shoveling snow and working on a Poster to present my research I did back last spring.

As for telling someone, it is very understandable. smile  I think it is the next hardest thing to do next to admitting it to yourself.

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Aww, shoveling snow?  That doesn't sound too fun. tongue As for the poster, that however does. big_smile I actually enjoyed doing projects like that, haha.  We had to do one on a particular movie in English class for some reason (I chose "Halloween" wink) and I got a huuuge posterboard and tried my best to make a theatrical poster.  It turned out kinda shitty, but whatever. big_smile I still got an A on that pointless little project, so whatever. wink

Yeah.
Admitting it to yourself is very hard, especially if you're like me and you never thought much about religion/spirituality beforehand.  tongue

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Well I enjoyed it for the most part. Although it sure gave my muscles a work out and they are sore now. tongue  I usually enjoy making posters as well, however this one is very odd. I have to create it using powerpoint and that is a bit of a pain. Luckily I am almost done with it. wink

I had actually thought about those subjects quite a deal and it forced me to re-evaluate every conclusion I had come to, and has opened me up to exploring them again.

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Powerpoint?!
yikes
I had to do a powerpoint presentation for web design - I HATED it! mad Basically, it was 'cuz I didn't really know how to work it all that well. tongue Why'd ya have to make a powerpoint poster, btw?

Hmm...well, I'd come to the conclusion before that nothing was really right.  Like...I was mormon (along with my whole family before they started treating us like crap after the divorce...) and then tried being one of the more conventional Christian types and didn't really like that either. I dabbled in Wicca for a bit because it had appealed to the nature-loving side of myself, but didn't know what to think of that either.  Pretty soon I'd come to the conclusion that nothing seemed right, nothing seemed to fit me 100% - I believed in God, I believed I had a soul, I just didn't have a religion to follow, haha.  So I just stopped thinking about it for a while.

and then I came here.
*Sigh.*
I wonder what it would be like right now if I'd never come to this site, ever...  I'd probably still be blaming the phantom tail/ear sensations on overactive imagination. tongue

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

Well the individual in charge of all the posters are making us create them on a powerpoint slide that is 4ft by 3ft and from there they will just print them out on a board and put them up. I have never heard of doing such a thing before and I find it quite odd.

Ah that is very interesting. At one time I looked into Wicca as well, however it felt mostly made up, and didn't seem to have any real basis for a faith you know. For the moment I'm just sitting with my own ideas and personal belief system.

You know I wonder about the same thing from time to time. I don't know if I would have accepted if I did not have others to talk to about it, you know?

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

The one poster presentation I had to give, one on one with the Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce in Washington DC a couple of years ago was the only time I ever used powerpoint to do a poster. It turned out really nice, but was strange doing it on there... I'm so conditioned for slides. tongue tongue

I know what you mean Totali. wink Sometimes I wish one of my friends would tell me that they were one, but then again, it's hard to tell someone that and in all probability, not good to tell anyone unless they're your absolute best friend. Even then it's awkward.

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

@Vin: I've never heard of doing anything like that before either, Vinster.  What the hell, haha.  tongue Yeah...Wicca, whilst the people all seem nice enough, just didn't really resonate with me like i'd originally thought it would.  And yeah, I've basically got my own ideas/personal belief system as well, seein' as nothin' else fits. hmm

And yeah, I feel that way, too.  I don't think I would have accepted shite.  My logic gets in the way sometimes, hahaha!  Like I said before, I'd probably still chalk it up to an overactive imagination...even the "phantom" shifts, as they're called...tongue

I even went through a period recently before coming back to these boards this summer in which I tried to convince myself it was imagination again....  Sometimes, it simply makes me feel like I'm going insane.  I mean, I know I'm not because if I were truly insane I think I'd be like those people on the Youtube werewolf picture slides who talk about how they can turn into wolves and such...tongue They also claim to "hate" vampires, haha...big_smile

@Whitester:  You should have seen me attempt to do my powerpoint presentation...  I kept messing up with the little-remote-thing-or-whatever that they gave me to show the slides...it was definitely a horrible experience! tongue I still passed, but I had no clue what I was doing, haha!

Yeah, when I think about it...that's what I'd like to call 'classified information'. tongue I don't think I'm going to tell anyone actually, I'm just too afraid of what the responses will be.  I don't wanna gently caress up relationships with my friends, or make them awkward. hmm Your buddy seems to not mind at all, though, from what you've implied, Whitester. tongue I'm sure my good, GOOD friends wouldn't, either...but I'm not gonna say anything..*sigh*hmm

Re: I really haven't posted in a long time, have I?

You know though there is nothing wrong with a belief system that does not fit into a larger organized one. For even within such ones everyone has their own ideas and takes upon it.

Yeah my logic was the hardest part for me to deal with, especially when I began to accept it. My logic was in a huge mess of chaos after that one and had to re-evaluate everything. I would have to agree with you on the crazy. I don't think you are. wink
